Controlled Therapeutics (CT) was established in 1987 as a limited liability company organised under Scottish law, and located at the Peel Park Campus in East Kilbride, Scotland. The company’s objective is to develop, manufacture and license pharmaceutical products based on patented drug delivery technologies.

CT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cytokine PharmaSciences Inc. (CPSI), a Delaware corporation having its principal place of business in the United States at King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. CPSI has interests in pharmaceutical research.

CT currently employs around 65 people, about half of whom are involved in research and development. The 3,500 sq. metre building houses the manufacturing facility that has been approved by government agencies to enable our dinoprostone controlled release insert to be manufactured and exported to many markets around the world.

The workforce at East Kilbride contributes skills in formulation, analytical and process development, the management of clinical studies on a worldwide basis, as well as manufacturing and quality. They interface with the regulatory demands of governments, and these skills have already resulted in one product that has been successfully developed, registered and launched around the world.

Over the past 20 years the company has commercialised its polymer drug delivery technology that is capable of providing controlled release of a range of drug molecules over periods up to 24 hours.
