Cervidil®/Propess®
Our hydrogel technology, formulated as a vaginal insert, offers an alternative means of ripening the cervix with sustained and controlled release of dinoprostone; additionally it increases the control available to the clinician. The resulting product is indicated for cervical ripening in cases where there is an obstetric or medical indication for the induction of labour.
The Cervidil®/Propess® vaginal insert are the largest brand used in the obstetric field in the world. Every minute of every day a woman somewhere in the world will give birth assisted by one of our pessaries.

Launched in the US in 1995, the Cervidil®/Propess® vaginal insert has subsequently been approved in over 50 countries, with the number of partners and distributors now around 15, the most significant of these being Forest Laboratories, who market the product under the name Cervidil® in the US. In Europe, Ferring Pharmaceuticals markets the product under the name Propess®. |
