Helen
is a Pharmaceutical Physician with 16 years experience
in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device
industries.
Helen's expertise includes clinical study design and management
(therapeutics and medical devices), strategic regulatory
affairs, drug development planning, pharmacovigilance
and assessment of commercialisation opportunities.
Helen completed a degree in genetics and then studied
medicine. She worked in general medicine and general practice
for several years before joining the pharmaceutical industry.
Helen worked for "big pharma" for six years
and then as an independent consultant working for five
years with emerging biopharmaceutical companies.
In 2000 she and a colleague set up Pleiad, a consultancy
firm headquartered in Perth, Scotland that specializes
in assisting biopharmaceutical companies transition into
development.
In 2003, the company opened a North American office in
Cambridge, Massachusetts (Pleiad Inc), where Helen is
based for around half her time. Helen has been a consultant
to Controlled Therapeutics (Scotland) Limited since 1995.
