Dr. Macdonald earned a degree in biochemistry with first class honours from Strathclyde University. He later received his doctorate from the Department of Materia Medica at the University of Glasgow. Dr. Macdonald has had a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry in positions such as Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, for Hoechst-Roussel and Chief Executive Officer of PanTherix. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Health Innovations Ltd., a newly formed company established to capture and exploit technology from the UK National Health Service.
